If you try to run an application that is built into Disk Checker utility for your Windows computer, ChkDsk pops an error message when trying to find bad clusters The disk read problem occurred the disk doesn’t have enough space to be able to replace bad clusters.

This article might help. This error message means that your drive is in bad sectors, and there aren’t any free sectors that you can transfer to the sector that is bad too. The presence of multiple bad sectors could suggest that your hard disk is in trouble and could crash at any moment.

The disk is not equipped with enough space to substitute poor clusters.

This message usually appears when you execute the command chkdsk/f/r. If you get this message, it might be beneficial to immediately save your information onto an external drive since the hard disk may fail. In this scenario, you should give the process additional time to finish. If necessary, run the chkdsk command /f/r repeatedly.

If none of this helps If this doesn’t work, you can try the freeware Victoria to repair the problematic clusters. It’s an effective HDD info and diagnostic tool.

Victoria is a no-cost, powerful tool that can monitor and correct any problems with a drive. Once you’ve downloaded it, you need to extract the contents and then run vcr447.exe as administrator.

If the tool starts ensure that you’re in the Standard tab. In the upper right panel, choose the Drive causing the issue and then click the SMART section.

In the list of scores and lists checked, you can find the score of the Reallocated sector count. If the Tresh value is greater than 10 you might have issues with the hard disk.

If your drive shows the raw value greater than 1 or the value is 196 or 199, you may have failed the drive. Both 197 and 198 errors are Windows? generated. When the health indicator has five green dots, then you’re in good shape!

Under the section, S.M.A.R.T. Monitor, located on the top left corner, look at the state that your disk is in good health. If it shows, Good, you are in good shape. However, SMART does have issues with USB storage devices.

If you spot any issues within the SMART section, go into the Tests tab and click the Scan/Start button. The scan will begin and will then identify the clusters on your hard drive based on the time required for it to scan the cluster. All errors and warnings can be seen in the log at the bottom of your window.

You can also alter to adjust the Starting LBAand End LBAto reduce it to a certain set of clusters.

If you find any bad clusters discovered, click one of the Rectify radio buttons. After the scanning has been completed you can complete the CHKDSK procedure again. If you’re still experiencing the error, choose Refresh and run the scan again. This will correct any remaining levels.
