Make Room For A New Member In The Household
Unless you use cheats, you’ll have to stick with the original family members once you exit the CAS.
The Sims household can only have eight members at first, and this number includes pets.
This means that if you want to add another character, you’ll need to make sure you have enough room in your home for them.
If you already have eight people in your household, the best thing you can do is split the household and move someone out.
This will allow you to introduce a new member to the family. If you need more space and want to relocate to another Sim, go to Manage Worlds, then Manage Households. Select Transfer Sims Between Households to move the characters you’ve chosen out.
This is the quickest method of how to add a Sim to a household in Sims 4 to free up space in their home.
There is, however, a cheat you can use with the Full House Mod to increase the number of Sims in an active household to up to 24.
Proposing Or Asking A Friend To Move In
So, how do you add Sims to your Sims 4 household? Assume you already have a family and want to grow it. This will be your active or base household.
When it comes to the Sims you want to move in, you have two options. In the CAS menu, you can either create completely new Sims or add some of the Sims you’ve previously created. Once you’ve completed your households, it’s time to merge and add. There are several ways to add Sims organically.
Propose to a lover. This is possible only for Sims who are in love and want to get married. If they have an SO, your Sims can simply propose to them and this will add their partner to the household.
Ask a friend to move in. Once you’ve become good friends with another Sim, you can use the Friendly > Ask To Move In option. This means that they will be your roommate.
You can do this with any Sims in your world, as long as they are part of an active household. Be ready to make some extra room in your busy home if they happen to have babies, toddlers, or children. The only way to leave children out is to have another adult stay to care for them.
Merging Households
Merging Your Households is the quickest and most efficient organic method of adding Sims to Household Sims 4.
