Sims 4 Decades Challenge Explained

You could say that playing through The Sims 4 Decades Challenge is like traveling through time. This is the best option for anyone looking for a fresh take on the classic. It has simple rules that are easy to understand. Going through each decade beginning in the 1890s and ending in 2010 will do the trick.

Your Sims’ lifestyle, in a nutshell, is going to be determined by the decade they are in. Each time your first child enters the teenage years, you enter a new decade.

So What Are The Rules Of The Decades Challenge?

The regulations are an accurate representation of the way things worked during that era:

The 1890’S

  • Only other Sims of the same race can be a compatible romantic partner for your Sim. And it must be between two people of different sexes.
  • Outdoor restrooms.
  • Using electricity is impossible for Sims. To prepare food, they have only fireplaces, and to light their homes, they have only candles.
  • The “Try for baby” option is the only one your Sims can use. That rules out any communication via Woohoo.
  • Women are the only ones who can have the bonus trait of creativity.
  • Traditional gender roles see women taking care of their homes and children. However, they can supplement their income by gardening.
  • Your daughters aren’t free to leave the house until they get married.
  • It’s important that your heir is a man. However, if all you have are female offspring, then one of their husbands can serve as the heir.
  • Only wooden furniture is permitted in your home.
  • Don’t expect to take any showers. The use of bathtubs is however acceptable.
  • Careers are off-limits to your Sims. Thus, they should limit themselves to such activities as painting, gardening, and woodworking for financial gain.
  • The only acceptable material for construction is wood.
  • You are restricted to only hanging classical or impressionist works of art.

  • A brunch for the master mixologist and the crime lord is now available. That is, only men need to apply.

The Great Depression has hit the entire world in 1930. Get ready to face a wide range of difficulties!
