Orange Spain announces opening of its first metaverse store
Orange Spain has cut the virtual ribbon to its first store in the metaverse, with hopes to open doors to new customer experiences in the field of virtual commerce.
In the same announcement, the telecoms company revealed that it has also reached an agreement with Meta for the incorporation of Meta Quest 2 in its portfolio of virtual reality devices.
The virtual metaverse store will display products from brands such as Oppo, Honor, Huawei, Samsung, Xiaomi and Google, as well as Meta, which the customer can manipulate in a 3D visualisation, accessing demos, promotions and the online store.
Real-life sales representatives will be available to serve in the store in the form of an avatar and offer advise on Orange products and services.
Customers who visit the virtual store experience will find redeemable discount codes on products and services they wish to purchase and pay for in the physical store.
The space will have three different areas: a commercial area with advisors, product and service displays, manufacturers displays, and exclusive promotions. It will also have an area for leisure with competitions, games, and audiovisual content from Orange TV, and will have its own amphitheatre to hold events, so that those who can’t attend physical events can do in the virtual space.
Customers can access the store either through a computer (in 2D), or with VR glasses either from home or in the real-life Orange store.
Diego Martinez, director of the Orange Residential Business Unit said, “with the opening of our store in the metaverse, we have become a pioneer company in this environment, deepening our commitment to innovation and digital transformation and improving the experience of its customers who therefore have another point of contact with the company.”
